Videos from the Webinar for Rare Disease Day: Exploring the Prevalence of MPNs Worldwide

Published on April 4, 2025

To commemorate Rare Disease Day, the Global MPN Scientific Foundation hosted a virtual webinar focused on the prevalence of Myeloproliferative Neoplasms (MPNs) worldwide, with specific insight into the Spanish context. The session featured Dr. Rafael Marcos Gragera, epidemiologist at the Catalan Institute of Oncology (Spain), and included scientific data.

The webinar has been divided into four key parts. You can change the language into English by going to “Configuration → Audio → English”. You can explore each section below:

Part 1 – Introduction and Criteria for Rare Diseases

In this opening segment, Dr. Gragera explains how rare diseases are defined in the context of public health and why MPNs fall into this category. He also reviews the importance of cancer registries and classification systems.
