Oscar Wei, Living with Essential Thrombocythemia and Traditional Chinese Medicine
Continuing our MPN Hope Series Testimonials, we share the story of Oscar Wei, a patient diagnosed with Essential Thrombocythemia (ET) who has faced many challenges and valuable learnings along the way.
Oscar, originally from China, now lives in New York but has also spent part of his life in Latin America.
Oscar’s Journey and Reflections
Oscar was diagnosed in December after a routine blood test showed increasing platelet levels. At first he had no symptoms. Over time he began experiencing intense headaches, which led him to seek specialized medical care.
He decided to explore Traditional Chinese Medicine for one year. Today Oscar is participating in a clinical trial in New York. He leaves an important reflection for the community:
"Are we doing everything we can to take care of our health and improve our quality of life with MPN?"
